At the beginning of a new project there are often a number of complex technical problems, the solutions to which are unknown. At Gill R&D, our dedicated research team conduct in-depth investigations to rapidly find appropriate solutions.

Design support is given through modelling, simulation and algorithm development to ensure our customer requirements are met. We employ Design-of–Experiment (DoE) methodologies to identify the significant variable on performance.

A typical research project

Research projects typically consist of several stages.

First stage:

Discussions with customer, and technical experts.

Modelling or simulation creation and refinement.

Proposal for prototype system.

Second stage:

Design and build of prototype system, based upon initial findings.

Experimental design and data capture using available test facilities.

Algorithm development.

Demonstration of prototype system.

Further stages:

Performance enhancement study.

Patenting handled.
